Go to Alaska
Fairbanks
September 30, 1951
My dad was transferred to Ladd Air Force Base outside Fairbanks. My dad, mom, sister and I drove from Georgia to Alaska, when the AlCan highway was still entirely unpaved. We lived in Alaska for three years, and returned to the US on a troop transport ship along the inside passage to Seattle.
