Looking Forward
I became a Christian
August 1961
When I was a child my family spent summer weekends in Mission Beach, CA. We attended a Baptist Church in La Jolla, CA so regularly that they gave my sister and I attendance awards. During a Children's Church service we were told not to take communion unless we had been Baptized. That bothered me, and I asked my parents about it immediately.
I have never known a time when I did not feel God's presence and know He existed as the one, true God. So, it was less a matter of making a decision as it was a logical step in my spiritual growth. I went forward during the alter call at my own church in Thermal early in the fall, attended membership classes, talked with the pastor and deacons, and was baptised when I was 7. My two oldest sons were later baptised in the same church.
