My first marriage. My first wife and I apparently were not "Friends" so much as we were "Impassioned", and not necessarily for each other. It took over 30 years to reconcile the aftermath with a peace offering which was accepted. While the original coupling was destined to fail, it should have never gone the way it did. Both of us could have been more compassionate in the end, and as of late, I have come to realize that compassion for her in light of some personal insight that I have recently aquired about her.
