Emily visits Israel July 26, 2008
Emily and her best friend, Katherine, flew to Israel (alone!) to visit their friend, Noa. They attended elementary school with Noa when her family lived in the US for 3 years while her dad worked at Lockheed. Noa earned money to buy plane tickets for the girls and off they went!

Lance's heart attack February 23, 2008
Lance started feeling bad and decided he need to go to the hospital. I was out of town and his friend took him. He had a heart attack as soon as they took him back to the ER. He was CareFlited to the Heart Center where they put in a stent in a 100% blockage. He had to be shocked 6 times. It was touch and go. Miraculously, he went home 2 1/2 days later and was back to work in 2 weeks. Thank you, God!

But, we had 2 new babies this year - my cousin and his wife had a baby boy, Nathan, June 27 and my uncle's step-granddaughter had a new baby girl, Taylor Renee, in April. Also, one of my cousins from Arizona was there. We only see her every few years.

Trip to Chicago September 21, 2006 - Chicago, IL
My first trip to Chicago. I can hardly wait to go back. My husband was working a lot of the time but I did a lot of exploring on my own. My favorite thing to do was ride the El out to different neighborhoods and sample the local flavor.

Relay for Life June 2, 2006 - Weatherford, TX
We joined my parents at the annual Relay for Life event in Weatherford. My mom is a breast cancer survivor so she walked the survivors' lap. Then the rest of us joined for a lap. She is very active in their church cancer support group. My favorite part, besides watching my mom walk with the survivors, was the lighting of the lumarias, the reading of the names, and HOPE spelled out in luminarias in the stands.
